We continue to search for information on major and upcoming solar companies around the world. Our search has revealed a lot of companies and technologies both from established and emerging solar markets, some of these companies will definitely become the world’s future solar leaders.

 

We would like to share company profile with other members on these forums; we will cover both directly related and indirectly related solar companies around the world.

 

Deutsche Solar AG (Germany)

 

Deutsche Solar AG produces mono and multi-crystalline silicon wafers for photovoltaic industry.

It also provides recycling services, such as purification, recycling, and classification of silicon material; surface treatment of wafers, cells, and silicon materials; recycling of photovoltaic modules; manufacture of special silicon blocks; and research services.

Deutsche Solar AG was formerly known as Deutsche Solar GmbH and changed its name to Deutsche Solar AG in February 2002. The company was founded in 1994 and is based in Freiberg, Germany. Deutsche Solar AG operates as a subsidiary of SolarWorld AG.

 

Deutsche Solar AG is one of the many successful solar companies based in Germany, I can’t recall the latest figure, but I remember Germany is now ranks 3rd or 4th in terms of solar industry in the world.

Entegra Limited (India)

 

Although not a solar technology or manufacturer, Entegra is a leading renewable energy company, and it has participated in different types of solar infrastructure projects around India.

 

Entegra Limited is an India-based Company. The Company is an integrated global renewable energy company. The Company is organized in three segments: Energy Services; Infrastructure Projects, which is engaged in divestment in power project.

The Maheshwar Hydro Electric Project (MHEP) has a generation capacity of 400 megawatts (10*40 megawatts) with an energy generation potential of l, 500 million units per annum.  EnnerGreen Solutions comprises projects, products and services divisions, which also include adopting or developing solar energy.

First Solar

 

First Solar, Inc. designs and manufactures solar modules using a thin film semiconductor technology. The Company’s solar modules employ a thin layer of cadmium telluride semiconductor material to convert sunlight into electricity.

Each solar module is approximately 2 feet by 4 feet (60 centimeters by 120 centimeters) and had an average rated power of approximately 73 watts

 

Its solar module is a single-junction polycrystalline thin film structure that uses cadmium telluride as the absorption layer and cadmium sulfide as the window layer.

The Company’s solar power systems and project development business provides a variety of integrated services to its customers as part of a system solution delivery. These services include solar power system design, procurement of permits and balance of system components, construction management, monitoring and maintenance.
